Organization

ZetoPad provides multiple ways to organize your snippet collection.

Tags

Tags are flexible labels that can be applied to any snippet. Unlike folders, a snippet can have multiple tags.

Adding Tags

1. Open a snippet
2. Press Cmd+T to open the tag editor
3. Type tag names separated by commas
4. Press Enter to save

Example: api, authentication, jwt, security

Filtering by Tag

• Click a tag in the sidebar to filter
• Or use tag:name in the search bar

Tag Suggestions

As you type tags, ZetoPad suggests existing tags from your collection for consistency.

Folders

Folders provide hierarchical organization for your snippets.

Creating Folders

1. Right-click in the sidebar
2. Select “New Folder”
3. Type a name and press Enter

Subfolders

Right-click on a folder and select “New Subfolder” to create nested folders.

Moving Snippets

Drag and Drop:

• Drag a snippet from the list
• Drop it onto a folder in the sidebar

Context Menu:

• Right-click a snippet
• Select “Move to Folder”
• Choose the destination

Folder Filters

• Click a folder in the sidebar to show only its contents
• Use folder:name in the search bar

Favorites

Mark important snippets for quick access.

Toggle Favorite

• Press Cmd+D on any snippet
• Or click the star icon in the snippet header

Favorites View

Click the star icon in the sidebar icon bar to show all favorites.

Sidebar Filters

The sidebar icon bar provides quick filters:

🕒	Recent	Recently edited
📁	Folders	Folder tree view
🏷️	Tags	Filter by tag
💻	Languages	Filter by language
🗑️	Trash	Deleted snippets

Trash

Deleted snippets go to Trash for recovery.

Deleting Snippets

• Press Cmd+Backspace or Delete
• Or right-click and select “Delete”

Recovering Snippets

1. Open Trash from the sidebar
2. Right-click a snippet
3. Select “Restore”

Permanent Deletion

• Right-click in Trash and select “Empty Trash”
• Or select individual snippets and “Delete Permanently”

Caution

Permanently deleted snippets cannot be recovered.

Drag and Drop

ZetoPad supports drag and drop for:

• Moving snippets between folders
• Reordering folders in the sidebar
• Moving snippets to trash

Drag Preview

When dragging, a preview shows:

• Snippet icon (based on language)
• Snippet title

Context Menu

Right-click any snippet or folder for quick actions:
